It is obvious when you talk to doctors that they do not know what makes some people more susceptible to Acne Rosacea than others. What we do know is that having a light complexion and being 35 to 50 years of age are risk factors.

How efficient is an allopathic Acne treatment?

Acne Treatment

There are numerous acne rosacea treatment options, but the efficiency of one given treatment may differ from patient to patient. It is easy to understand why once you know that none of these treatment options has undergone clinical trials. Those trials would take years anyway, and in the meanwhile patients are left to fend for themselves and hope to get lucky in their choice of a cure.

If you opt for a medical solution, we advise you to go and see a specialist. He has the diagnosis tools and knowledge to help you choose the treatment most likely to work for you. Acne Rosacea treatment is mostly done using antibiotics. Among them, Retin A and Metrogel are the most widely use because of their anti-inflammatory effect.

The Ultimate Acne Rosacea Treatment

Grains such as barley provide another treatment option in the form of Azelaic acid. This solution is doubly interesting: it soothes inflammation and does not make bacteria resistant, as antibiotics tend to do.

Traditional plant medication has always shown interesting results in terms of treatment, but we still lack the rigorous scientific research which would enable us to develop a definite natural protocol. However, it is interesting to know that tea-tree essential oil, aloe vera and apple-cider vinegar have been said to have outstanding effects.

B-complex vitamins are also sometimes efficient, but have been known to make the condition worse in some cases, so please use with caution.

In Europe, fans of herbal remedies use dandelion and burdock root tincture. The treatment is long and strenuous, but it often works.

Do not forget that sunlight is believed to worsen this skin condition, as it does many other skin diseases, so do not expose yourself unnecessarily to the sun.

If you are one of the thousands of men and women suffering from the skin discorder rosacea or acne rosacea, you may already be familiar with the standard dermatologist-prescribed courses of action and medications.

What many people don’t know, is there are actually non-prescription, natural rosacea products that are just as effective, if not more effective, than prescription rosacea medications and topical rosacea gels and ointments.

First, let’s look at the common ingredients in pharmaceutical rosacea medications. Two popular topical prescription drugs for rosacea are Metronidazole and Azelic Acid.

As an oral medication for rosacea, physicians may utilize a variety of medications, mostly antibiotic in nature, to help control rosace by controlling severe facial flushing and swelling. Sometimes in severe cases, even cardiovascular medications are used to help control the facial flushing.

Because of the higher risk of negative reactions associated with the long term use of oral antibiotics, topical therapy is usually the preferred long term treatment method. There is also the danger of antibiotic resistence becoming a problem for people who are treated long term with anitbiotics.

Topically applied rosacea medications, especially those of a natural origin, are becoming more and more popular, since there is no risk of them becoming ineffective over a period of time, as there may be with man-made topical rosacea solutions.

In addition to topical rosacea gels, creams, and sprays, a complete skincare regimen including face wash and moisturizer should also be employed as a preventive measure for rosacea.

People with rosacea have skin that requires intense and very specific care, every day, from cleanser to makeup. It is important that anything that comes into contact with the face does not have any skin-aggravating properties, but rather possesses skin-calming and anti-redness peoperties. There are natural rosacea skincare systems that will do just that, and before you know it, you will be “back in the clear”.

br
So you are suffering from zits and want to know how to prevent zits from further appearing? Below are a number of different ways in which you can prevent zits from forming in the future.

1. It is important that you do not over cleanse your face. But if you do have oily skin then wash it twice a day. On the other hand, you will want to use a moisturizing cleanser if you have dry skin.

2. Always remove your makeup before going to bed. After removing your makeup wash your face and moisturize it prior to turning in for the night.

3. A good diet is vital if you want to prevent zits from forming. So avoid junk food and instead eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables.

4. It is important that you drink lots of water as this is a great way of keeping your skin hydrated. This keeps your skin looking fresh and new, and keeps your body cleansed on the inside too.

5. Dont touch your face. I said stop touching your face! Remember your hands are covered in all sorts
of germs and bacteria and so every time you touch your face you are transferring these from your hands.

6. If you have oily skin then you do not need a moisturizer. If you do need to use a moisturizer, use one that is light.

7. If at all possible keep your hair away from your face. Hair is oily and dirty (even though it may not look like it is). The products you use build up and can then be transferred to your skin. So try wearing your hair pulled back from your face (many zits appear on either cheeks or the forehead) and just see what difference this makes. Plus, keeping your hair pulled back at night will also help to keep dirt from being transferred while you are asleep.

8. Change your pillowcase every other night (or even every night if possible) especially if you are prone to zits. It is good to remember that both bacteria and skin cells will build up on a pillow and then end up clogging your pores. By using a fresh pillowcase you are helping to cut down the amount of dirt that is actually touching your face.

9. If you are suffering from stress this can cause a flareup of zits. Try using different methods of de-stressing such as stretching or walking. Yoga is a great way of relieving tension.

10. Along with a good diet you should ensure that you are getting the right sorts of vitamins and minerals. Take a multivitamin to provide the extra vitamins that you need.

By following the tips provided above you should be able to prevent zits from further forming in the future./pbr
br
Rosacea gives dilated blood vessels and inflammation in the skin. The skin is often also infected by bacteria. Most often the face is attacked and especially the convex surfaces of the face. Sometimes also the eyes or other body parts are affected. Rosacea may begin early, but distinct and serious symptoms usually develop as an individual gets older.

WHAT SYMPTOMS ARE SEEN BY ROSACEA

The primary symptoms of rosacea are the following. All the symptoms may not be present always.

- Permanent redness in the skin. This redness can get better or worse periodically.
- Flushing or redness that comes and disappears periodically.
- Telangiectasia – This is a distinct widening of small blood vessels in an area.
- Papules – Small dome-shape spots filled with fluid, often group wise.
- Skin areas with rosasea symptoms often get infected, and the infection worsens the symptoms.
- Pustules or pimples – Sometimes infection makes the papules develop into real pimples. However, if the pimples appear in a hair follicle stuffed with sebum (comedones), they are a symptom of acne, and not rosacea. Pimples from acne and rosacea may exist together.

Rosacea also implies secondary symptoms that are caused by the primary symptoms, or appear later than the primary ones.

- Burning or stinging
- Placks – elevated red areas
- Scaling, often associated with burning or stinging
- Dry skin, often occurring before scaling
- Edema coming in areas that already has been red for some time
- Symptoms from the eyes like: Redness, itching, burning, corneal damage
- Thickening of the skin, or lumps in the skin
- Distended hair follicles
- Rosacea in other places than the face

WHAT CAUSES ROSACEA

The exact causes are not known, but some people seem to inherit the tendency of developing rosacea. People that blush very often seem to develop rosacea more easily. Therefore rosacea may be caused by blood vessels that dilate too easily upon stimulation, and eventually become permanently dilated.

The following types of stimulation may cause worsening of the rosacea symptoms: heat, hot baths, strenuous exercise, sunlight, wind, very cold temperatures, hot or spicy foods and drinks, alcohol consumption, menopause, emotional stress, prolonged use of topical steroids on the skin.

HOW IS ROSACEA TREATED

Traditional medicine does not have any treatment for the basic processes of rosacea, such as redness and the blood vessel extention.

Laser treatment may be used to take away dilated blood vessels or skin irregularities by rosacea. The laser light heats and destroys the dilated blood vessels.

When infection is a part of the disease, and papules or pustules occur, rosacea is treated with antibiotics, usually applied directly on the skin, for example metronidazole. Oral treatment may also be used by severe rosacea, for example with: Tetracycline, minocycline, erythromycin, and doxycycline.

By pimple formation, you can also use rinsing skin cleansers in the same way as by acne.

On the market you can find several alternative medicines, mostly topical creams, to treat rosacea. These often contain natural oils, herbal extracts, vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants that alleviate inflammation and stimulate skin healing. They may also contain mild antiseptic agents to treat bacterial infection.br
Rosacea is a kind of skin disease which gives rise to different symptoms such as dilated blood vessels, inflammation on the skin, permanent redness, papules, pustules etc. Due to rosacea, sometimes the eyes and the other body parts are also affected. The root cause of rosacea is not known till now. It is said that people who often blush seem to develop this because their blood vessels are dilated. Rosacea may be caused by the following primary symptoms such as burning, erethymas, scaling caused due to burning or stinging, dry skin, swelling that enlarges after the portion becoming red, eye symptoms such as redness, itching or corneal damage and pimples from acne.
There are various ways to treat Rosacea. Both modern science and the traditional medicines can treat it but only when there is redness and blood vessel enlargement. Laser treatment can also cure the dilated blood vessels or the skin irregularities. The condition can also be cured with antibiotics when papules, pustules are caused. If rosacea spreads consult your physician. The physician will prescribe necessary medicines. If pimples form then clean your skin with skin cleansers.
There are plenty of alternative medicines found in the market such as topical creams that comprise of natural oils, herbs, minerals and antioxidants that heal the acute irritation. The bacterial infection is treated with mild antiseptic agents. Consult a physician before using any medication.

Author: Melanie Steigelmann
Source: ezinearticles.com

If you occasionally get one pimple, it is like occasionally getting one mosquito bite. It is sufficient to put a little cream on the red bump when it shows up. However, if you are prone to acne, it is more like your home is infested with an entire swarm of starving mosquitoes. It is no longer sufficient to treat only the bite because you are going to keep getting bitten over and over again. In this case, you must treat the bite AND kill the mosquitoes before they ever bite you. Similarly, if you are prone to acne, you must treat the pimples as they appear AND treat the underlying conditions that cause them.

To carry this analogy one step further; even if you kill all of the adult mosquitoes, new eggs will hatch tomorrow and they will keep biting you. To solve the problem once and for all you must declare war on the mosquitoes! Kill the eggs. Kill the larva. Kill the pupa. Kill the adults. And treat your existing bites.

Similarly, to successfully treat your acne you must declare war on pimples! This means you must follow a treatment regimen that attacks the outbreak at every stage of its life cycle. The acne “egg” starts with the overproduction of oil (sebum). This process leads to pores getting clogged, bacteria growing, your immune system over-reacting and finishes with an exaggerated inflammatory response which are pimples.

The only effective way to break the cycle is to follow a treatment protocol that simultaneously treats the oil, clogs, bacteria and inflammation. The steps outlined below combat acne in all of its life stages. They are designed to treat your existing pimples as well as break the life cycle of future breakouts.

The Battle Plan:

Start by washing your face with a good cleanser. This will wash away excess oil (sebum), and kill bacteria. Take care in selecting your cleanser and ALL products that contact your skin. Many (most) products contain ingredients that can clog your pores and make your acne worse! See the article “Are You Making Your Acne Worse? – Comedogenic Ingredients” see link available at the bottom of this article.

After washing, use a chemical exfoliating scrub. This product reduces clogged pores by removing layers of dead skin cells. The gritty portion of the scrub mechanically abrades the cells away. The chemical exfoliate, which is typically glycolic, salicylic, malic, citric or mandelic acid, “dissolves” the glue-like substance that binds the skin cells together.

Thoroughly rinse your face with Epsom salts dissolved in warm water. You can even apply a washcloth soaked in the Epsom salt solution on your face for several minutes. Allow the Epsom salts, which is actually magnesium sulfate, to be absorbed into your skin. This will reduce the inflammation, improve circulation and help flush toxins from the cells.

Finish by applying either a hydrating lotion or zinc oxide. The best hydrating lotions contain hyaluronic acid or hyaluronate. This is a water binding ingredient that hydrates without adding oil to the skin.

If you have cystic or inflamed acne, apply an ointment that contains at least 20% zinc oxide. The zinc will speed the healing and rebuilding of the skin and also protect against the spreading of the bacteria to other parts of your face.

Everyone’s acne is slightly different depending on whether your skin is oily or dry, sensitive or resistant. After following this procedure for 2-4 weeks, evaluate the results to determine if you need more or less aggressive products.

It is good to get a professional evaluation before considering any treatment regimen.

This treatment protocol will wage war against acne in all phases of its life cycle. At present, there is no “cure” for acne. However, the recommendations above will certainly reduce its duration and minimize the occurrence of future breakouts.

For a list ingredients that cause breakouts see:
http://caryskincare.com/skincarearticles.html
