In addition, androgens enlarge the sebaceous glands in our skin, which causes these glands to increase sebum production. Cause #2: Too much sebum production. Dead skin cells and sebum clog up your pores, which in turn leads to acne, or worsen your acne condition. This can be easily solved by using a soap-free cleanser. Wash your face twice a day, but not too often as it might lead to skin dryness, which results in more sebum being produced. Cause #3: Bacteria.
