If you’ve talked to different people or searched for an effective acne treatment program, you may have found yourself a little frustrated.
If so, I can’t say I blame you. There seems to be a treatment program to match every single case of acne.
Acne Treatment
Even though no single cure works for everyone, a steam room can fit into just about any acne treatment regimen.
A short list of popular recommendations for acne control and prevention includes:
washing your face twice daily with mild soap
facial steaming
drinking plenty of water
reducing stress levels
Here are two reasons why a steam room can fit into most acne treatment (and prevention) regimens:
1. Steam bathing opens your pores and helps purge impurities from your skin through sweating
2. Steam baths enhance circulation, bringing oxygen-and-nutrient-rich blood to the surface of your skin
If you want to reap the full benefits from a cleansing sweat bath, it’s important to remember to take a shower immediately when you exit the steam room. Otherwise, some toxins may be reabsorbed into your skin.
That would be defeating the purpose, right?
If you can’t shower right away, dry your skin thoroughly with a clean towel and shower when possible.
Use Caution!
If you have an extreme acne condition, using a steam room can possibly aggravate the situation. If this concerns you, do some research or schedule a consultation with an expert to find out if it’s ok for you to take steam baths.
Steam Room vs. Facial Steaming
Facial steaming has proven to be an effective method for acne treatment, but using a full steam room enclosure offers an advantage in my opinion.
Why?
Steam bathing carries benefits beyond just cleaning your face. Taking a steam bath at least 2 to 3 times a week may help clean out some of the toxins in your body.
Because toxins are thought to be a contributor to many skin problems and other health issues, you may enhance your skin appearance indirectly by helping to clean out your system a bit.
I’m not suggesting that facial steaming should be eliminated, but adding steam bathing may offer an extra edge for acne control.

A healthy appearance starts on the inside. If you’re not doing so already, make a strong effort to eat foods rich in vitamins and minerals, drink plenty of water every day, and throw some exercise into the mix.
No acne treatment program is complete without practicing good, sound healthy habits.
