Im sure I can say with confidence that all of us would like to have that clear, peaches and cream complexion. Unfortunately, it doesnt seem to work out that way. At some time, to some degree most of us have had to deal with acne or the scars they leave behind, which is why there are so many people looking for that acne free treatment that really works.

Acne can happen to anyone at any point in their live. So no matter how old you are you want to find out what works best, is most effective, safe and affordable. Here are some tips that can help you to become acne free.

Aloe Vera has been around for a long time. Mostly we think of it for treating burns because it is soothing to the skin. Actually, it can be good for acne and acne scarring. Simply apply the juice directly to your skin, youll be pleasantly surprised. Be sure to keep some handy.

By putting a little toothpaste directly to the blemish, it will reduce inflammation and the redness that can occur.

A fast fix is using an orange peel. After grinding the peel and adding some water, apply it directly on your face, leave it for 15 to 20 minutes, then rinse it off.

Water is an essential part of good overall health. We tend to forget that our skin needs it too. Make sure you are getting in at least eight or more 8oz glasses on a daily basis.

Cold water or even using ice on the infected area is great for reducing the redness and swelling. Try using it before bedtime, and you could be pleasantly surprised upon awakening the next morning.

These tips can be helpful alone, or you could use it along with the many over the counter products available on the market today. When choosing an acne product be certain that the ingredients are not loaded with chemicals, as they can be more damaging to the skin. An acne free treatment should be a system rather than having one product alone to get the job done.

A cleanser, moisturizer and a dietary supplement will work a lot faster as they work together. The ingredients should be gentle and soothing to the skin. Harsh soaps and chemicals can be very drying, therefore making matters worse.

br
Often the biggest frustration for those with combination skin is caring for it properly. Having both dry and oily skin areas on your face can make skin care seem almost impossible. There are, however, things that you can do to care for and keep your combination skin healthy and feeling good.

For one thing, some areas of your face may feel tight after you wash. This will typically be on the parts of your face not included in the T-zone area. These areas will likely also look flaky and dull and may feel rough.

First of all, make sure you are cleansing every day. Use a mild cleanser on your entire face. Use the cleanser twice a day, preferably before bed at night and after get up in the morning. These are the times your face most needs to be cleansed anyway, but if you have combination skin it is imperative.

Get a good moisturizer. Once you have identified which parts of your face are the dry parts, most likely these areas are not in the T-zone and this is the area you will treat. Use the moisturizer on those dry areas only. Using it in your oily T-zone will only make that area worse.

The goal when you have combination skin is to normalize it. Normalizing is trying to gain a balance between the oily and dry areas so that all your skin looks and feels the same. In order to accomplish this feat, you want to look for products that are made for such normalization. For instance, ones that contain alpha hydroxyl acids (fruit acids or AHAs) or retinols will work best. Retinols are a vitamin A derivative. Such products should help you to gain more normal and even looking skin.

The reason AHA creams are so beneficial to your skin is that they area catalyst for skin cell regeneration. By burning off or removing the top layer of skin cells (or the too oily and too dry ones) they expose the healthier skin cells beneath them. These cells are more likely to absorb moisturizers. They also help improve skin elasticity through their water-binding properties. This can help with that tight feeling you may get in the dry areas with your combination skin. The only thing about which you need to be aware is that once you are using AHAs, you need to continue using them. Once you stop, your cells will not regenerate at the rate they were with the AHA and will return to their original state very soon./pbr

How Acne affects young girls in puberty.

Girls go through many physical and psychological changes during puberty. These changes include body composition, fat distribution, menstruation, growth spurts, body and facial hair growth, body odor and skin changes. The body physically changes as the fat tissue increases in the hips, thighs, and breasts producing the typical hourglass shape of females. With all these changes going on, what effect does acne have on girls during puberty?

During puberty girls experience an increased likelihood and severity of acne from the increased oil secretions in the skin. Puberty is often a difficult time and acne only adds to the difficulty. During puberty girls usually experience increased irritability, mood swings, and feelings of low self esteem. Even girls who have been very sure of themselves may suffer from low self esteem when puberty sets in. These changes may be even more severe in the girl also suffers from acne.

The negative changes in girls during puberty are made even worse if acne is a problem. You can help deal with the changes when you know how to lessen the problems of acne.

Practical Acne Treatments For Girls…

Proper skin care is the first step in treating acne. The face should be gently washed with a facial cleanser. There are many skin care products on the market that may help with acne. To kill the bacteria that cause acne the cleanser should contain salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide or sulfur. Gentle cleansing is an important factor when dealing with acne. A common mistake is to clean the face too often and with harsh cleansers. Careful cleaning of the face twice a day is the best way to go.

There are some cosmetics that can be detrimental if you are trying to control acne so it is important to use non-comedogenic products. Non-comedogenic products are less likely to cause acne, blackheads or block the pores of the skin. Today there are many non-comedogenic products available, such as makeup, lip stick, moisturizers, and even acne medicated makeup.

The changes experienced during puberty can take a mental and physical toll on girls. The onset of acne certainly makes these changes even harder to deal with. It is a good idea to visit with a dermatologist if the acne can not be controlled with over-the-counter medications. A dermatologist will understand the changes that are associated with acne and will be able to offer advice and treatment programs. It’s also important to be understanding and offer support to girls as they go through the difficult time of puberty.

What are the reasons that more and more adults are suffering from acne?

That’s probably related to the more varied and volatile hormone changes that accompany the adult physiology and lifestyle. Also, subtle early pre-menopausal changes in estrogen and testosterone may contribute.

Women are subject to more stress than perhaps at any other time in history. There are more concrete demands and more mixed messages demanding personal and professional perfection. The price is often physical and emotional exhaustion and emotional stress. How is it possible for the skin to not respond badly as well?

The final basic “cause” of adult acne is the same, abnormal response of the follicle lining cells to androgens. However, there are many more potential and identifiable causes in women, i.e. hormone medications, menses, pregnancy, personal care, etc.

The following regimen is one which is typically recommended to varying degrees of adult acne:

- Non-comedogenic soaps, cosmetics, etc. Many skin cleansers, make-up, etc. actually leave residues which block pores, and can make acne worse. The products which are used should state that they do not exacerbate acne. Some have recommended a very inexpensive, “natural” topical antibiotic. Placing 1 tsp. of essence of lemon oil (found at supermarkets) in to 4 ounces (120 cc) of liquid soap. This is used for cleansing the skin – essence of lemon has antibacterial properties.

- Topical antibiotics: several antibiotics (esp. tetracycline types, erythromycin, clindamycin, etc..) are prescribed for adult acne twice daily. They usually come in a “roll-on” type bottle.

- Topical Vitamin-A acid (e.g.. Retin-A): cause peeling of the superficial layer of the skin to lessen new comedone formation. Quite effective. Face gets “raw” if use to much. Must use a sunscreen. Takes 4-6 weeks of consistent use to attain benefit.

- Facial cleansing: people with adult acne usually have very clean skin because attention they give to this area.

- UV light therapy: should be done with great care and under the supervision of a dermatologist.

- Oral antibiotics: tetracylines or erythromycin are most commonly given by mouth for moderate to severe acne in adult. More expensive antibiotics are not necessarily any better than plain tetracycline. Tetracyclines work very well, however because they can discolor new bone formation, they are contra-indicated in youth who have not completed their permanent teeth, as well as pregnant and nursing females.

- Isotretinoin (Accutane) is indicated in only the severest adult acne cases. It is highly effective at reducing sebum production, comedone formation, inflammation, etc. However, it can cause severe birth defects if taken while pregnant and runs the risk of toxicity, requiring certain laboratory monitoring prior to and during therapy. It usually needs to be taken for at least 20 weeks. All other adult acne therapy is stopped while on isotretinoin.

In general, it’s not how you wash, what you eat, what you drink, or impure thoughts. The over-the-counter, television, and internet “miracle cures” are too good to be true. REALLY. You need real therapy that can clear your skin.

Proper skin care is important any time, but it’s particularly important if you’re dealing with acne. One of the “secrets” to controlling an acne problem is to keep your skin as healthy as you can. This includes keeping it clean and avoiding things like sunshine and harsh cosmetics that can damage the skin.

Cleaning Your Skin

Use a specialized skin cleanser or a gentle soap daily, according to the directions. Don’t scrub your face as this can aggravate acne and actually make the problem worse.

Moisten your face with a soft cloth and apply the cleaner to your skin, from your hairline to your neck. Rinse it with plenty of water and dry your face by patting it with a soft towl (again, avoid scrubbing it dry).

If you have oily skin you may need to use an astringent, however do so with care. Only use it on problem spots and stop if it irritates your skin. If you think you may need to use an astringent, you should consult with your dermatologist first.

Hair care is also related to acne and skin care. Shampoo your hair regularly and do your best to keep it off your face. If your hair is oily, it can lead to acne if not kept clean and away from your face.

Sun Protection

It has long been thought that exposure to the sun can help acne, but this isn’t really the case. The sun can dry out your skin and a tan can make your acne less obvious, but it’s really a temporary solution.

Once your skin acclimatizes itself to the sun, your acne will return plus the sun exposure carries other risks such as skin cancer.

Some acne treatments can also make your skin more sensitive to the sun, and in turn more likely to burn. You should always wear sunscreen when you’re out in the sun, whether you’re dealing with acne or not.

Makeup & Cosmetics

Ideally, wearing no makeup is the best choice but if that isn’t an option be sure to choose a makeup that won’t clog your pores.

These cosmetic products are labelled as noncomedogenic, although some people may still have problems when using them. Be sure you choose makeups that don’t use an oil base. Read the ingredients before choosing anything.

Shaving

There is no hard and fast rule when choosing between electric razors and safety razors. Some people will find one more comfortable, some with find the other.

If you choose to use safety razors, don’t shave with dull blades. You might have to shave around serious acne lesions, and make sure you soften your beard with water and shaving cream before you shave.

If you’re having a particular bad day with acne breakouts, it’s probably best to skip shaving altogether.

Avoid Touching Your Skin

It’s tempting to squeeze pimples, but don’t give in! It can lead to more serious problems because squeezing them can cause the bacteria that causes acne to spread. It can also cause permanent scarring in some cases.

It’s also a good idea to avoid touching your face because your hands tend to be dirty and oily and they can spread germs.

There are many products available to treat and help prevent acne. Some are developed specially for this purpose, and contain acne medications and substances, which cleanses the pores and reduce the chances of acne appearing. Others are simply cleansers, designed to clean the skin and remove excess oil and dirt, which helps prevent pimples. So the products are useful and could be harmful to skin? Soap is one of the most used products to clean the skin, and for some people is suitable for use in areas of acne. However, it may aggravate these areas depending on your skin type, skin sensitivity, acne, and the actual condition. It is therefore important to use a special cleaner that has the respect of these factors. This will help prevent further irritation to the skin and aid healing faster. If you have sensitive skin, stay away from fragrant soaps, because chemicals in them can cause rashes. If your skin is fat, use soaps that are free of oil. If you are using products that contain a certain quantity of oil, this oil is added to the skin, causing clogged pores and outbreaks may occur. You need to pay attention to their makeup products because they may contain chemicals that clog pores and irritate the skin, causing pimples. It is better if you use cosmetics that are not cometigenic. That means it will not clog pores. If a cosmetic product irritates the skin, stop using it and find another that does not. The containers contain information about what is in the product, and what type of skin works best. You can get information by reading these labels. Remember not to wash the skin as this can cause irritation and acne development. Also, wash your skin gently. Do not squeeze pimples, as this can cause bacteria to go deeper into the skin, and the area around the shin to swell. Instead, cleanse your face and use a toner to relieve inflammation and remove the pus. Choose acne products carefully. Consult a physician if the use of hygiene products over the counter is not working efficiently.
